vipassana &
authentic movement

six days of sitting still and moving without a plan. silence, land, and whatever surfaces.

001 / the retreat

vipassana is the practice of seeing things as they are. you sit, you breathe, you watch what comes up and let it pass. we sit in silence several times a day.

authentic movement is its counterpart. eyes closed, a witness present, you let the body move from an impulse instead of an idea. no choreography, no right way. what was still on the cushion starts to move.

By registering for this 6-day meditation and movement retreat, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

1. Your health and wellbeing

This retreat combines meditation with gentle, body-based practices. Any physical activity carries some risk of injury, and you take part voluntarily and at your own risk. Please listen to your body, rest when you need to, and let the teachers know about any injuries or physical limitations. If you are unsure whether the retreat is right for you, please check with a healthcare professional before joining.

2. Mental health

Intensive meditation can sometimes bring up strong emotions or difficult memories. If you are currently experiencing, or have a history of, mental health conditions (such as depression, anxiety, trauma, psychosis or bipolar disorder), please tell us before the retreat so we can talk together about whether it is a good fit right now. The retreat is not a substitute for therapy or medical treatment.

3. Retreat conduct

To support everyone's practice, you agree to:

  • attend the full retreat and follow the daily schedule
  • respect non-verbal silence of other participants and the guidance of the teachers
  • refrain from alcohol, recreational drugs and other intoxicants throughout the retreat
  • treat fellow participants, teachers, staff and the venue with kindness and respect

4. Responsibility and liability

You are responsible for your own safety and for acting considerately towards others. The organizers, teachers and venue are not liable for injuries, damages or losses that occur during the retreat, except where required by law.

5. Medical emergencies

In case of injury or a medical emergency, you authorize the organizers to seek medical help on your behalf.

6. Leaving the retreat

The organizers may ask a participant to leave if their presence compromises the safety or wellbeing of the group, or if their intentions are clearly not aligned with the retreat. In this case, the registration fee will not be refunded.

1. reservations

we'll get back to you with payment details once your booking is approved. space is reserved when paid in full.

2. refunds

6+ weeks out: 100% refund on accommodation. 2–6 weeks: 50%. under 2 weeks: no refund. daily fee is always fully refundable.

3. long-stay rates

weekly, two-week, and monthly rates kick in when you book for at least that period. extra days beyond the minimum are charged at the same per-day rate — e.g. if you book 10 days, you can get the weekly rate for all 10.

4. can I extend the booking later?

yes, you can extend the booking at the same rate as you booked it. e.g. if you booked two weeks first and then extend by another two weeks, you'll pay the two-week rate for both stretches. to get a monthly rate, you need to book for a month in advance.

5. what's per person vs. per room?

room rate = per room. daily fee, camping, and van spots = per person (since it covers mainly the use of communal facilities, not the accommodation itself).

6. can I opt out of food?

not fully. the daily fee also covers water, electricity, and kitchen fixed running costs. if our kitchen can't meet your dietary needs, we can offer you cooking and fridge space — and reduce a small part of the fee if needed.

7. kitchen & space care

we have a chef, but we ask everyone to help with 1–2 cooking/space care shifts per week. on sunday we have a collective cleaning session.

8. can I volunteer extra? how about for a discount / free stay?

we really welcome extra support. sometimes we also have discounted helper spots for people with building/carpentry/electrics/gardening skills, ask us about it.
